Gurnee home to two new restaurants, plus Xfinity store

A new building located in Gurnee, near the corner of Hunt Club Road and Grand Avenue, will be the site of an Xfinity store, as well as a Panera Bread and a new BBQ restaurant.

Mission BBQ is a chain of fast-casual spots that honor military, fire, and police personnel. The week before the grand opening, Mission plans to hold charity nights for firefighters, police, and military veterans. Each night, the group being honored will choose a charity, and Mission will donate the proceeds of that evening to the organization.

Mission BBQ prepares its meats in a smoker attached to a military-type vehicle known as a ‘Bam-Bam’. There are 65 Mission BBQ locations in total, and they all have Bam-Bams they can take with them to cater events. This is only the second Mission BBQ in Illinois.

The Panera Bread is actually relocating from Grand Avenue, because the new building has a drive-through. McAlister’s Deli will take over the space when Panera leaves.

People who shop at the Xfinity Store will be able to sample the products and services the company offers. They can also pay their bills in person, and return or pick up equipment.

Mission BBQ’s official opening in July 16, and Xfinity will also open this summer.

New enterprises like this can benefit by distribution promotional products to early customers, to build brand recognition, as well as showing appreciation to those stopping in.
