June 17, 2018 by

Texas Firefighter Summer Games has chosen Mansfield once again to host the upcoming Texas Firefighter Summer Games. This will be our second time to have the week of fierce competition here.

The opening ceremony will take place at 11:00 am at Big Leaguer Dreams and that will be followed by 22 sporting activities. Some of these activities will include basketball, bowling, dodgeball, golf, sand volleyball, soccer, and softball. Other outdoor games will include archery, cross fit, horseshoes, disc golf, fishing, and sporting clays. Indoor contests will include darts, grappling, indoor volleyball, and a rousing Texas Hold ‘Em tournament.

This event, although mainly for having fun and friendly competition, will also be a time for firefighters around the state to network with each other. The Games will have two social events – one on Tuesday evening and the other on Wednesday. The first will feature an Eagles Tribute Band, and the second will be the Hawaiian Falls Firefighter and Family Night at Hawaiian Falls Water Park. Many attendees will surely want to get some business card printing done soon so they can exchange information with others at the games.

Proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Rotary Fire Fighters Home, San Angelo Soccer Association, Texas LODD Task Force and Parkland.

Texas Firefighter Summer Games will be from Sunday, July 15 to Friday, July 20 at various locations in and around Mansfield.
