Riverside has free summer music and dance

June 9, 2018 by

Riverside Downtown Partnership and the City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services will feature free entertainment during June and July.

The 2018 summer concert series will take place every Wednesday evening. A Pat Benatar Tribute band – Best Shot – starts things off. Motown comes next with Stone Soul followed by Latin rhythms of Latin Nations. Neon Nation will play ‘80s pop the following week and Southbound will belt out a little classic rock. The series will come to a close the last Wednesday in July with a variety of music genres from Steel Rod.

Dance Dance Riverside will take place before each concert. This will be a dance competition. The top 20 contestants will vie for the $2,000 cash and prize package. Since this will be the first year for the event, the winner will also receive bragging rights as the inaugural champion. The winner will no doubt want pictures of their achievement taken to local print shops for future poster printing.

The venue will also have family-oriented activities and plenty of food that may be purchased from local food vendors.

On Tuesdays there will be Summer Lunches Downtown in front of City Hall at noon. Local music artists Lakin Saucedo, Alyssa, Young, Jenny Garcia, Chase Walker, Aprule Dalmacio, and Cadillac Phil will perform.

The 2018 summer concert series will be in Fairmount Park every Wednesday (excluding July 4) from 6:00 pm, until 9:00 pm, starting next Wednesday, June 13.
