Fairy Festival coming to Encinitas

June 7, 2018 by

The San Diego Botanic Garden, located in Encinitas, will be the site of the annual Fairy Festival. The day is aimed at providing an enchanting experience for toddlers and children.

The activities they can enjoy include leaving wishes on a special Wishing Bush, and having their photos taken in the company of the Fairy Princess.

A special area will be set aside for projects, where the little ones can build a house fairies will love to live in, paint a treasure chest, and decorate one of a fairy’s most important pieces of equipment—a magic wand. Face painting artists will be on hand, and everyone can shop at the Fairy Land Market.

Live entertainment is also on the schedule, featuring the Willowood duo of Sheil Jaffe on harp and Kathy Link on the flute, and the Ruth and Emilia duo performing musical numbers.

Although children are encouraged to dress up for the event, wearing crowns of flowers, wings, or whatever their imaginations create, adults are specifically not to arrive in costume.

The Fairy Festival is June 23, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Willowood appears from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, and again from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm; and Ruth and Emilia take the stage from 11:00 am until 11:45 am, and again from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm.

Event organizers often work with a flyer printing company on a handout, perhaps including a map.
