Wiggly racers set to take to the track in Baraboo

A race has been organized for the Baraboo Public library that will see racers wriggle rather than run.

Mary Grant, who is the President of the Library Board will act as the judge for the 6th annual Worm Race, and kids can either come with a worm of their own or adopt one to enter in the competition. No prior registration is needed to participate, and anyone who wants to get involved is welcome.

The squirmy competitors will be judged in qualifying heats as well as the semifinals and finals, and the winner will receive bragging rights and a certificate. The event is intended for those in grades K to 5, and it is free to participate.

The worms and their “sponsors” are asked to arrive at 10:00 am, and the races will begin promptly at 10:05 am. The event will wind up at 11:00 am. Stationery printers will be able to design and print award certificates to give to the kids who take part in a fun event like this.

The 6th Annual Baraboo Library Worm Races will be held on July 5 at the Baraboo Public Library located at 230 4th Avenue. More information for any parents or caregivers who have questions can be obtained by contacting the organizers by phone at 608-356-6166 or via email at carey@baraboopubliclibrary.org.
