Tempe doughnut shop creates extraterrestrial fare

Earlier this month, The Donut Parlor in Tempe recently celebrated Star Wars Day, also known as ‘May The Fourth Be With You’, with special galaxy doughnuts. The intergalactic offerings are expected to be available until the end of the month.

Chhaya Tan, owner of the Donut Parlor, commented that he is a big fan of Star Wars and wanted to create a special and different type of doughnut “that was out of this world.”

The yeast-based doughnut is topped with a psychedelic mixture of buttercream icing and sprinkles. The idea was to have the doughnut look like it is twinkling, like the stars.

Tan started the Donut Parlor about two years ago to create a special experience in food for its customers. It offers gourmet doughnuts, filled options, and classics, as well as cinnamon rolls and bear claws. Also on its menu are various types of beverages, ice cream, and two types of croissants.

The Donut Parlor is also passionate about giving back to the community, and partners with several charities to support first responders and various organizations in the community, while also promoting higher education.

Flyer printing companies can be hired to create flyers and other materials so that people from the community become aware of not only such special culinary delights, but the important fundraising efforts behind them.
