Oakdale invited to record-breaking good time

An Oakdale area event will take aim at bullies while encouraging all those who take part to have a great time while they try and break a world record.

Project My Neighborhood has organized the first of its blaster battles for 2018, and members of the public are invited to grab their Nerf Blasters and join in the fun. The goals are to both break the record for the largest toy battle while also raising funds to support an anti-bullying app. The organizers remarked that last year, over 1,200 people came out for the event, and they are hoping this year will be even bigger and better.

The St. Paul Saints Mudonna and Goldy the Gopher will be on hand for the occasion, and several other sports mascots will be special guests as well. Star Wars characters will also come out in full costume, and there will be giveaways of Nerf Blasters and other activities. Those who wish to participate are asked to bring their own eye protection, as well as their own dart blaster.

The event is open to everyone aged five or older, and the registration fee is $7. Banner printing for a large occasion such as this can be provided by an area printer.

This world record breaking attempt has been organized for June 30 at East Ridge High School in Woodbury. A full description of the event, along with its rules and other details, can be found on its event listing.
