Danbury area welcomes summer with music festival

May 8, 2018 by

The Second Annual Brewster Music Festival will be kicking off the summer season in June. This will be a free family-oriented afternoon of friends, fun, food, and music.

Local musicians will be belting out funk, soul, blues, and rock as crowds enjoy food from local vendors and games. Guests, no doubt including those from nearby Dabbury, are invited to bring blankets and chairs and spread out on the park’s “great lawn.”

The National Anthem will be sung by Annie Sullivan, a Brewster High School student, and MaryEllen Odell, the Putnam County Executive, will give the opening remarks.

Bands for this year’s festival will be The Libertine Project, Special Sauce, The Fresh Paint, and Soul Proprietors. Acoustic Americana music will be provided by solo artists Jeffrey Marano and Frank Funigiello, Jr. between sets. Belly dancing and Bollywood will be performed by the World Heritage Cultural Center.

Local crafters and artists will be exhibiting and selling their works. Local businesses will be handing out business cards and displaying and selling their products and services.

A raffle will take place with proceeds going to our local Cultural Arts Coalition projects such as the restoration of the Old Town Hall Theater. A Kids Around the Corner will have free crafts and activities, and inflatables will be available for a small fee.

Brewster Music Festival will be noon to 6:00 pm, June 9 at Wells Park, 98 Oak Street, Brewster, New York.
