Chagrin Valley Little Theatre holds successful fundraiser

The Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, a much-beloved valley institution, is now 80 years old, and needs some updating. In order to fund various projects, the theater held a fundraiser recently, and raised over $70,000—thanks to some friends who dropped in from television and Broadway.

The performers at the sold-out evening included brothers Casey and Corey Cott of Chagrin Falls. Casey plays Kevin Keller on the CW Network show “Riverdale,” while Corey has performed both on television and on Broadway.

The other talented performers were mostly from Broadway, and included Kyle Banks who was on Broadway in ‘The Lion King’; Jason Weston who performed in ‘Mama Mia’; Clifton Oliver from both ‘In the Heights’ and ‘The Lion King’; Gina Milo who has been in ‘Annie’ and ‘Les Miserables’; and ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ actor Brandi Chavonne Massey.

Also appearing were Colleen Longshaw, who was in the touring company of ‘Kiss Me, Kate’, Amy Connolly, who has appeared at Lincoln Center, and Jonathan Jackson, from Cleveland. Regular performers at the theater, who are from the local area, were also there to add to the fun. Emily Shipley, Simon Sedmak, and Greta Rothman were on hand, as were newcomers Autumn Key, Sam Fujikawa, and Tedd Byers.

Robb Sapp and Patricia Keller Haynish co-directed the event.

Fun events like this can be even more enjoyable if organizers work with a poster printing company to create colorful signs advertising the evening.
