Rockville Centre area community to host Senior I.D. event

April 23, 2018 by

An event that has been planned for the Rockville Centre area will give seniors an opportunity to take steps to ensure their safety and give peace of mind to members of their families.

The town of Hempstead is offering I.D. cards that have been designed with its older residents in mind. These are free to obtain and include information that can be helpful in case of an emergency.

Each of these cards will serve as a “mini biography” of the holder. Details such as their age, name, address and other personal data, as well as the name and contact details for their physicians and emergency numbers, will be included. Along with this, there will be space where any allergies or other important medical details can be added.

The cards will be small enough to fit into a purse or wallet, and will come with a form that the senior can place on their refrigerator containing useful information. Print shops in the area can be called upon to both design and then print both these types of cards and the information sheets to give out during an event like this.

The Senior ID Van will be stopping by the West Hempstead Public Library on May 8, and older adults from the local area are invited to stop by. More information can be found on the event’s Patch listing.
