Studio City attends Earth Day LA

April 10, 2018 by

Studio City residents interested in living clean and going green can attend the upcoming Earth Day LA later this month. The free event will be hosted by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, The Music Center, and Grand Park.

The Heidi Duckler Dance Theater will be performing dances inspired by themes of climate change, water conservation and environment. The dances will be performed next to the sculpture Fish Eyes, which emphasizes the need for water conservation. Claire Mills will also be relating stories and singing songs about the Earth.

Eyeglasses will be accepted for redistribution, e-waste will be collected and trees will be given away to LA residents. The LADWP will have giveaways and will be passing out information about energy efficiency and water conservation. It will also have electric vehicles on display, a solar trailer, and a water trailer.

Children will have activities such as recycled art projects, and attend boot camp sessions and yoga classes with their families.

Gardeners will get the chance to attend the numerous composting workshops, and everyone can tour the park’s sustainable landscaping.

Vendors will be selling healthy-lifestyle items, and food vendors will have treats to purchase.
Festival goers will want to stop by the information booth to enter the raffle and check for any promotional products.

Earth Day LA will be at Grand Park, 200 N. Grand Ave, Los Angeles on Thursday, April 19 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm.
