Albuquerque domestic violence conference planned

Those who work in the field of domestic violence advocacy, whether they are community or system based, may wish to save the date for a training opportunity that will be held in Albuquerque this spring.

The Domestic Violence Legal Advocacy Training workshops will take place over two days. It will give those who participate a chance to enhance their knowledge and skills when it comes to advocating for people who have survived domestic violence, and aid them in navigating the legal system. There will also be time for networking and sharing experiences and best practices.

An assortment of topics will be addressed during the event, and these range from confidentiality to trauma-informed legal advocacy. This opportunity is being offered free of charge, and partial scholarships are available for anyone who will be traveling in from outside the Albuquerque area and needs the extra financial support. Banners, brochures, personalized pens, swag, and other material for this type of educational occasion can be supplied by print shops in the local area.

This training opportunity will be held in the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid North, and it has been scheduled for May 22 and 23. A full listing of the agenda for the two days and the topics that will be covered, along with an opportunity to register, can be found on the event’s listing.
