Adventureland postpones opening

Due to heavy snow in the Williston Park area, Adventureland is postponing its opening date, as well as moving its Easter egg scramble.

The nor’esters that have hit the eastern United States repeatedly this winter have put paid to several activities. The Easter egg scramble is an annual event during which participants are given a “scramble booklet” that contains coupons, which they exchange for giveaways throughout the park.

Adventureland, which is on Broad Hollow Road in Farmingdale, has been a Long Island attraction since its opening in 1962. The park is unusual in that both parking and admission are free; visitors only pay for their rides, and any food they eat or souvenirs they buy. Season passes are available.

The Adventureland park will open for the 2018 season at 11:00 am this Friday, March 30. The Easter egg scramble, a free event, will start at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 31. The park will be open through April 8, then it will shut down except for weekends until it opens for the year on June 20. At that time, it will be open daily.

Parks like this are even more fun for people when they can easily find their way around, so operators might like to work with a flyer printing company to create a list of attractions, as well as a map.
