Erlanger institute unveils 2018-2019 plans

The Enzweiller Building Institute in Erlanger has open enrollment for the 2018-2019. The Institute is celebrating 50 years of its Kentucky Work Readiness Skills Initiative.

It has acknowledged the need to fill 46,500 jobs over the next 10 years in the trades its teaches, noting that there is a big demand for construction workers.

The Building Institute plans to invest in $1.2m to build and purchase new equipment this year. The Boone County campus will get $470,000 in new equipment and in building costs.

A new Campbell County Campus will be shared between the Alexandria Elementary School and Campbell County Technology Center. This will receive $294,000 for equipment.

Brian Miller, executive of the of the Building Industry Association – a trade organization that operates the institute – says that with all its industry teaching partners, it has a successful model for technical education careers.

The school teaches heating ventilation and air conditioning, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, facilities maintenance, and welding.

Their program runs September through April and students sit classes two nights a week from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The Enzweiller Building Institute has job placements and helps student pass licensing requirements for some trades. There are accelerated programs for students in licensed trades.

Erlanger has printing services that help schools, colleges, businesses, clubs, and nonprofits with the design of business cards, as well as business card printing for marketing or sales.
