Microbrewery to open in Fall River

March 14, 2018 by

Canned Heat Craft Beer Co. of Fall River recently received provisional approval from the licensing board of the city to open a microbrewery.

Named after the band that played at Woodstock, Canned Heat will brew and can about six dozen different beers in its waterfront location, which is now under construction, adjacent to Borden Light Marina.

Owner of Borden Light Marina, Michael Lund, purchased the building that was once occupied by Northeast Products, in which Canned Heat will be located. Miles Wilson, the president of Canned Heat, said that Lund has been working on the building since then and in addition, concrete walls and oil tanks have been removed so that there are views of the Braga Bridge, the Borden Flats Lighthouse, and Mount Hope Bay from the tasting room.

Wilson said there will be a lager and four types of pale ale offered in the pouring room, a pilsner based on the beers of Portugal, and a rotating brewer’s choice in the pouring room. Wilson expects that the Portuguese pilsner will be the location’s livelihood.

The opening date for the brewery is in May, at which time Wilson will be able to brew, pour, can, and distribute his beers.

Various kinds of printing services could be used to promote such special offerings in the community and their unique features and products.
