The annual VegFest event is taking place next month in Seattle over two days, presented by Vegetarians of Washington.

The festival will introduce the public to over 500 different foods and attendees can enjoy unlimited tasting. There are set to be cooking demonstrations with chefs such as Ellen Jaffe Jones, Chat Mingkwan, and Hannah Kaminsky. Health professionals will also be on hand to provide information and advice on nutrition choices. In addition, there will be free health screenings for the likes of high cholesterol and diabetes.

There will be a special medical seminar for practicing physicians and medical students about how vegetarianism plays a part in healthy living.

Books about the vegetarian lifestyle will be available for purchase and anyone who decides to join Vegetarians of Washington during the show will receive a tote bag stuffed with samples and information.

For the children, there will be a special section set to feature clown, balloon twisting demonstrations, puppet shows, and face painting.

Seattle printing services companies may be asked to provide the printed information that exhibitors will be handing out over the weekend.

VegFest will be held at the Seattle Center from April 7 to 8. Tickets are $9 for adults and free for children aged 12 and under. To find out the most current information, visit the official event website.
