Local families are invited to the upcoming Texas Wildlife & Woodland Expo and Spring Fling coming in a couple of weeks. The event will focus on information about wildfires, water, wildlife, woods and wildflowers. Over 5,000 people are expected to attend.

All ages will find hands-on crafts and other experiences at the learning stations and interactive booths. Outdoor recreation activities such as fly fishing, rod and reel fishing and boating safety, hunting safety, a Take Aim BB Range, and archery will be on site. Everyone will get the opportunity to try out their skills in the Kayaking Skills Tank.

Baytown Nature Center will provide a touch tank in the aquatic area, and wolf rehabilitation and rescue will be discussed at the Wolves of St. Francis booth.

Experts in many wildlife genres will be available throughout the venue to discuss, explain and answer questions. Ecosystems services will be discussed in “how to” sessions and in landowner, rural and urban home owner mini lectures. Guests will be asking for the presenters’ business cards so they can get in touch for future events and lectures.

A Kids’ Adventure Zone will have fitness challenges and skills activities. Youth working on their patches and badges in their local youth organizations will get the chance to earn some of them during the event.

The Texas Wildlife & Woodland Expo and Spring Fling is slated for March 24th from 10 am until 2 pm at Lone Star College – Montgomery at 3200 College Park Drive, Conroe.
