Roseville goes to Rocklin for milestone year

February 13, 2018 by

Roseville is invited to attend Rocklin’s 125th Anniversary Celebration coming at the end of February.

The event will have live music, historical displays and family activities. A preview of Quarry Park Adventures will be available for the brave.

The Then and Now Art Contest will display artwork done by local elementary to high school students. Many winning entries will no doubt go to print shops to be included in city banner printing and placed on utility boxes owned by the city.

Food vendors from La Mex Taqueria (tacos and burritos) , Farmhouse Coffee (hot, cold or blended), Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen (pulled pork, braised beef and hot dogs), and Cousins Maine Lobster (lobster and shrimp) will be selling their specialties on site.

This is only the first event in Rocklin’s 125 Anniversary lineup. Other events will include the Run Rocklin (event proceeds will go to the Matt Redding Foundation) in April, the Community Celebration parade in May, and the Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Hot Chili and Cool Cars coming in September.

The ‘Voices of the Past’ educational cemetery tours are being offered by the Rocklin Historical Society. Society members act out roles of historic Rocklin residents.

Rocklin’s Anniversary Celebration will be February 24 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at Quarry Park, 4000 Rocklin Road. Admission will be free.
