Lebanon version of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ coming soon

January 8, 2018 by

Lebanon is putting on its own version of the hit television show ‘Dancing with the Stars’, which is called ‘Dancing with the Stars Lebanon’.

This is the third year for the contest, which will feature, among other contestants, Sherry Capello, the mayor of Lebanon, as well as Jim Payne, a disc jockey; Michael Dietz, a professional eater; and Candy Sparks, a survivor of domestic violence. The local celebrities will be partnered by professionals from Danstation School of Dance.

Michael ‘Big Haus’ Dietz has been a professional eater for three years, when a friend teased him into entering the 2014 Lebanon Bologna eating contest, which took place during that year’s Lebanon Bologna and Winter Fest. Dietz is now ranked number 35 in the country.

The money raised at the event goes to Lebanon County’s Domestic Violence Intervention (DVI).

The fun starts at 6:00 pm with a cocktail hour at All About You Catering on Lehman Street in Lebanon, this Saturday, January 13. Dinner follows at 7:00 pm, and the competition takes place at 8:00 pm. People who want to enjoy the show can call 717-679-7866 and speak to Jennifer to reserve a spot, or email execdir@dviolc.org.

For this sort of event, organizers sometimes work with a flyer printing company to create a handout for audience members, including the contestants’ biographies, as well as information about the organization receiving the money.
