Clovis cancer survivor workshop to focus on the beauty of food

January 7, 2018 by

A special event has been organized for cancer survivors from Clovis and the surrounding areas, and it will have a theme of ‘Food as Art’.

Chef Hillori Hansen will act as the host for the occasion, and she will lead the guests through an exploration of healthful ingredients, many of which will have been sourced from the local area. The attendees will be treated to an afternoon of tasting a variety of dishes, and they will also learn how they can make them at home using simple components that are readily available.

Salads, fruit-topped smoothies, and other recipes will be on the menu, and the afternoon will be capped off by preparing chocolate bark that contains an assortment of healthy additions. According to the organizer, the goal is to create food that is attractive to both the eye and palate.

The fee to participate has been set at $20, but scholarships are available for anyone who is experiencing financial difficulties but would still like to take part. A stationery printing company can provide an event like this with recipe cards and other items to give to each person who comes to the function.

This artful exploration of local healthy food will be taking place in the Whole Foods Market, which is located at 650 West Shaw Avenue in Fresno. The Art of Life Cancer Foundation’s website can be consulted for additional information about the class.
