Baraboo will be heating up this winter

January 6, 2018 by

A Baraboo event has been planned in support of an imitative that will help to ensure that everyone in the community has a warm place to call home.

Habitat for Humanity has planned its first ever Chili Cook Off for Construction, and it promises to be a hot time for everyone who comes out. It will be family friendly, and guests will be able to sample a variety of offerings prepared by local chili experts.

Those who have a recipe they are proud of are invited to join in the fun by bringing along a pot of their own special concoction. Anyone who does will have their name entered into a draw to win a gift card for $100.00 or $50.00, which can be redeemed at Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore shop. This fundraising facility features a variety of recycled and reusable construction, home décor and other items.

The proceeds from the activity will be used to help the organization in its efforts to build affordable housing and repair existing homes. The ticket prices for adults will be $15.00, while those ages 6 to 12 will be asked to pay $7.00. Anyone 5 or under will be admitted free of charge. Banners for a function like this can be sourced from a printer in the local area.

This spicy event will be taking place on February 3rd in at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Baraboo. More details can be found on the community’s Chamber of Commerce website.
