Fairfield holds two charitable events in January

January 5, 2018 by

The Kiwanis Club of Fairfield will be holding its 41st annual Crab Feed in a couple of weeks, and the Taste of Fairfield-WinterFest will follow at the end of the month.

Along with the fresh crab, the Crab Feed will consist of drinks, salad, and a dessert auction. Tickets are $50. Proceeds from this event will go to programs benefiting Solano County youth.

The Taste of Fairfied-WinterFest will have guests mingling with local market and restaurant personnel, distillers, vintners and brewers in a “food gala.” Here guests can enjoy samplings of party food, comfort food, and Super Bowl favorites, and there will be live music and comic routines as entertainers will be roving throughout the venue. The facility’s lower level will be holding an open bowling tournament. Friends of the winner may want to take pictures for later poster printing.

The evening’s Chances to Win program will be donating all its intake to Operation Hope. This charity provides basic needs such as food and shelter and long-term support to homelessness, such as life skills training, affordable housing, and clinical support. Attendees to Taste of Fairfield WinterFest can also bring items that will be given directly to the charity.

The Crab Feed will be at the Fairfield Community Center, 1000 Kentucky Street, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm on January 13.

The Fest will be from noon to 4:00 pm January 28 at the Brooklawn Country Club, 500 Algonquin Road, Fairfield.
