The Conroe Chamber of Commerce, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Houston Metro Go Texan Committee, Heritage Park, and Downtown Conroe are getting ready for the 53rd annual Go Texan Parade & Stampede coming in mid-February.

The Stampede/5K walk run will kick off in the morning, and fees are $25 per participant. Awards will go to the top three female and male finishers. Spectators are invited to bring banners to cheer on their favorite runners.

This year’s parade theme will be ‘Backing Scholars with Rodeo Dollars’. Horses, as well as commercial entities, political groups, nonprofits, and youth marching and walking units will be entered in the parade. Floats will be decorated with the theme and judged for prizes.

The parade route will begin at the intersection of Metcalf and N. Frazier Streets and go north to North Main. It will continue west along N. Main, then south on Cochran and east on Thompson. It will then turn south on Simonton, west onto San Jacinto, and south on Phillips for one block. Then it will turn east on Newton, south onto Simonton, and finally east on N. Frazier and back to Metcalf.

The Stampede will begin at 9:30 am in Heritage Place Park on February 17. The Parade will get underway at 1:00 pm on Main Street in Downtown Conroe and activities will be going on from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
