Allentown Miller Symphony Hall plans exciting winter program

Miller Symphony Hall in Allentown has an early and diverse winter schedule planned. The hall has time honored works, world premiers, musical groups, documentaries, comedy, and new composers.

On Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. the documentary film The Opera House will be shown at 2 p.m. The Emmy award winning film was made by Susan Froemke. It documents the creation of Met in the 1950’s and its history.

The Laurence Hobgood Trio will perform on Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m. He is known as a composer, jazz piano virtuoso, producer, and lyricist.

On Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. The Kings’ Singer will perform. They are a British cappella vocal group that has performed around the world. The group is made up of six choral scholars.

Dancing and Romancing will be performed on Jan. 27 at 7:30. It is a combination of song and dance routines similar to those performed by Gene Kelly and Ginger Rogers.

Puccini’s Tosca will be performed on Jan. 28 at 2 p.m. This production will run three hours with ornate costumes, with a cast of two sopranos and a prima donna.

On Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Ladies of Laughter: Jane Condon & Patty Rosebourgh will perform. These national comedians will entertain you with their funny stories. The hall is located at 23 North Sixth Street.

Allentown has a printing company that helps theaters, restaurants, businesses, and clubs with promotional products for marketing.
