Middletown event to support those affected by domestic violence

December 13, 2017 by

Downtown Middletown will soon be playing host to an event that will see runners taking to the city street in wacky costumes to race and then enjoy a drink together, all in support of domestic violence shelters across the state.

The function, which will include both a run and a pub crawl, is being offered free of charge to the public. All the organizers ask is that the people who come out to watch or participate in the fun bring along a donation of a new item or gift card that will be contributed to an organization that helps those affected by domestic violence.

The organizers of the function have included a costume contest in their plans for the day. The winners will receive passes to the Hartford Area Roller Derby’s 2018 season. The location for both the run and pub crawl will be sent out to each participant who registers to take part. Business forms, banners, signs and other printed items that can help to ensure a fundraiser like this goes smoothly can be prepared by a printer in the local area.

This event, which will combine an afternoon of fun with helping others, has been scheduled for downtown Middletown on January 20. Anyone who would like to sign up or who wants more information has been asked to visit the Hartford Area Roller Derby’s Facebook page.
