Clovis area workshop to explore the value of play in therapy

December 12, 2017 by

Play therapy can often prove to be very helpful for young children, and a workshop that will be taking place in the Clovis area will provide an in-depth exploration of its benefits.

The course, which is intended for those who work with children, will teach the participants about how they can add play to the therapy and other services they provide. There will be a discussion about how to create a safe environment for a child to play in that promotes the social and emotional development, and also how it can be used to help cope with stress.

Many of the strategies that will be taught will include hands-on participation from the therapists. In addition to all of the rest of the information, the attendees will learn how they can add play therapy to an observation and assessment session. Each person who participates will receive a certificate of completion, and documents like this can be designed and produced by printing services providers in the area.

The registration fee for the day starts at $125 each, and this fee includes refreshments. It will be taking place on February 23 in the San Joaquin Room of CVRC, which can be found at 4615 North Marty Avenue in Fresno. Additional details, and a chance to sign up to participate, can be found on the organizer’s website.
