Butler area invited to enjoy a day of icy fun

Butler has found a way to celebrate the winter season, and it has invited one and all to come and join in the frigid fun.

For 2018, the third year for the community’s Carved in Ice festivities, the celebration will once again offer the public a chance to see skilled ice sculptors from DiMartino Ice Company perform their craft. Along with this, there will be lots more to see and do for all ages.

To help take the chill of the winter weather, a chili cookoff is included in the agenda. Restaurants and both professional and amateur chefs will offer samples of their best recipes, and the winner will receive both the Chili Bowl trophy and bragging rights as well. A variety of performers have been booked to keep the crowds entertained, and there will be both wine and beer tastings, hot drinks to enjoy, and an assortment of other activities as well. Branded promotional drinkware and a wide range of other items for this type of event can be both designed and crafted by an area printer.

The festivities are being held, in part, as a fundraiser for both the AM Rotary Backpack initiative and the Bentley’s Place Playground project. This community celebration will be taking place on Main Street in Butler on February 10, and more information can be found on the Visit Butler County website.
