Fairfield launches mobile app

Fairfield has just released a new app known as ‘Fairfield on the Go’. Residents will be able to use the app to connect with resources and services on their mobile devices, and can download the app now.

Greg Preece, the assistant city manager, listed everything people will be able to do with the new service, including inquiring about jobs with the city, buying tickets for performances at the Community Arts Center, and reporting concerns to city departments. Preece says the app goes along with the city’s new website that was finished several months ago. The app and the website are part of the ongoing efforts to provide more digital options to residents.

The new app can be found under the name ‘Fairfield on the Go’, and is available from the Google Play Store for users with Android devices. Apple’s App Store carries it under the name ‘CivicMobile’. Apple users can use either ‘Find Your Location’ feature or type in ‘Your City’ once the app is open. The menu screen showing ‘Fairfield on the Go’ should open immediately.

Links for downloading the different apps are available on the city’s website.

Officials in this situation might like to work with a flyer printing company that can create a flyer for mailing. The flyer will reach residents who might not currently have smartphones or other mobile devices, but who plan to purchase them.
