Coral Springs welcomes the holiday season

December 7, 2017 by

Coral Springs is getting ready to herald in the holiday season with a parade and a one mile run.

The Coral Springs Tropical Holiday Parade 2017 will be in full array this weekend. The procession will start at Coral Springs Drive and march along Sample Road to City Hall. Over 60 entries, including floats, walking units, bands, cars, dancing teams, and other celebrants will be passing by excited spectators. Local food, arts, crafts, and merchandise vendors will either be in booths or hawking their wares along the route.

Before the parade, many health-conscious runners and walkers will be participating in the Coral Springs Holiday Mile. The run will be timed and early registrants will be given Holiday Mile T-shirts. The starting line will be a pink tape placed on the street on Coral Springs Drive in front of the Coral Springs diner. The course will be a half-mile loop out and back on Sample Road. Everyone is encouraged to wear holiday attire.

Awards will be given to top three finishers in 20 age categories, for the team having the most members and the best team time. Winners will be taking pictures of themselves to insert into family holiday cards.

The Coral Springs Tropical Holiday Parade 2017 will take place this Saturday, December 9, starting at 7:00 pm. The Coral Springs Holiday Mile will be right before the parade, starting at 5:00 pm.
