Fort Worth children can banish their post-Christmas blues

The Fort Worth Zoo wants to help grade school children stay busy during their winter break.

The parents of children in grades one through five have the opportunity to give their children an exciting winter experience. The xoo is now offering a day camp program for youngsters that want to meet others, learn and have fun. Its Winter Day Camp program allows parents to choose one day, a combination of days, or register their children for the full five-day experience.

The camp includes an introduction to some of the animals that call the zoo home as they display their incredible physical talents of the creatures during their Winter ZOOlympics. There are also crafts, games, and snacks available. Little ones will have plenty of facts and stories to help fill next year’s holiday cards.

The camp takes place on December 28 and 29, and January 3, 4, and 5. The experience lasts from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day with daycare services before and after the camp available for an additional fee. Snacks are provided, but campers do need to bring their own lunch. The cost of the full five-day program is $265 per child and $85 per child per day. The daily cost of daycare before and after the program is $15 a day or $40 for the week per time slot. Contact the zoo for more information.
