Janesville has traditional holiday light show

December 4, 2017 by

Janesville is once again enjoying an annual holiday event, with a wonderland of 425,000 holiday lights on 20 acres.

There will be 75 brightly lit Christmas trees that will include 600 dangling icicle lights and 2,500 luminaries. Around 50 decorated garden obelisks, over 100 displays, and 100 lit archways will greet guests.

A concession stand will be selling hot cocoa, cider, and Christmas goodies. The Holospex will require visitors to wear 3D glasses, and the Cottage Garden Gallery will have many items that can complete those Christmas lists.

Everyone will want to don their best Christmas attire and get photos taken in the antique sleigh. These photos can still make their way into this year’s Christmas cards and next year’s family calendars.

Special nights such as Holiday Sweater Nights, Wacky Winter Hats Nights, Visits with Santa Nights, and Silly Scarf Night will add to the festivities.

Holiday Light Show is at Rotary Botanical Gardens, 1455 Palmer Drive, Janesville on specific nights – the next ones will be on December 8 through 10, 14 through 23, and 26 through 31. Times are 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Tickets will be available until 8:30 each night, and the lights will go out promptly at 9:00 pm.

A free shuttle will run from Dawson Field at 920 Beloit Avenue to the Light Show.
