The city of St. Cloud, Minnesota will be hosting a legal planning workshop later this month for those living with dementia, as well as their families.

The Legal Planning Related to Dementia workshop, which will be hosted by Mid-Minnesota Legal Services, is part of a series that helps St. Cloud better connect, educate, and prepare the community for how to better deal with dementia. This is the fourth workshop the organization has hosted this year, with the prior workshops discussing topics such as the science behind dementia and basic symptoms.

On its website, the city states the importance of its role in educating their community about dementia, saying:

“Our community plays a vital role in the health and wellbeing of people living with dementia and their care partners. A community that is dementia-informed, safe and respectful is a community prepared to support people living with Alzheimer’s and everyone touched by the disease.”

The workshop will be taking place on Thursday, November 30 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the Whitney Senior Center. For those interested in attending, there will be no cost and the event is open to the public. Activities will be available for those who are receiving care as well.

More information about the workshop can be found on the event flyers provided by the City of St. Cloud, Minnesota website.
