Mansfield’s holiday season will get started the first weekend in December with Hometown Holidays 2017.

City Hall will kick off the weekend with the annual tree lighting ceremony. Santa will be arriving and going over Christmas lists with the children. There will be live entertainment, games, and plenty of holiday treats. The evening will end with a bang as fireworks fill the sky.

The next morning will have local runners taking on the Fa La La 5K, after which everyone will line the streets of Historic Downtown Manassas for the annual Christmas parade. Annie Jr. from Music Place Mansfield will be giving a performance on Main Street at noon.

An Amos Lee concert will be held in the Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday night from 8:00 until 10:00 pm.

The Tour of Holiday Homes, many of which will resemble holiday cards, will wrap up the weekend on Sunday, December 3. It will run from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.

Hometown Holidays will be Friday, December 1 from 5:00 until 9:00 pm at Mansfield City Hall 1200 East Broad St. Mansfield. The Fa La La 5k fun run/walk will be December 2 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Katherine Rose Memorial Park, 303 North Walnut Creek Drive. The parade will step off at 2:00 pm on December 2nd and circle around Historic Downtown Mansfield. It should end around 4:00 pm.
