Grand Prairie enjoys Magical Winter Lights

November 14, 2017 by

Lone Star Park will be opening its annual Magical Winter Lights festival in a couple of weeks.

Along with the five main attractions, there will be carnival rides and games, cultural performances, food and beverages, live music, and entertainment in the Fairytale Headquarters.

Christmas Candy Land will have little ones riding in Santa’s sleigh, wandering around in the Winter Wonderland maze, and getting their pictures taken with Santa. Lantern displays of a gigantic Christmas tree, presents and reindeer will make this section resemble holiday cards.

Magical Wonderland will be ablaze with light displays that will depict scenes such as a pirate ship, magic castle, and a whimsical forest.

Some lantern areas will offer the usual fare. Dinosaur Land will have dinosaur rides and will showcase ‘life-like’ prehistoric dinosaurs. The Lone Star State lantern section will continue to have the 40-foot cowboy and the other landmarks and elements of Texan culture.

The Mysteries of the East will have special cultural performances of MWL Chinese acrobatic show along with lantern renditions of Chinese porcelain and the Great Wall of China.

Carnival rides will include Ring of Fire, the Super Slide, Bumper Cars, Motor Cycles, Merry-Go-Round, Train, and Ferris wheel.

The festival will be at Lone Star Park, 1000 Long Star Parkway, Grand Prairie from November 17 through January 7. The event will be open Sundays through Thursdays running from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00 pm until 11:00 pm.
