November 14, 2017 by

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will be opening its Wildlights 2017 in a couple of weeks. More than 14 attractions will be available for Grandview Heights families.

The Sparkling Spruce will be a 21st Century Tannenbaum that will feature a light and sound show called ‘Candela: The Evolution of Light’. Another set of animated sound and light shows that will have a more dynamic beat will be ‘Holiday Rhythms Around the Watering Hole’ at the zoo’s Conservation Lake.

Also at certain times throughout the event Conservation Lake will have a Christmas at Character Village where Columbus Aquarium and Zoo characters will be greeting guests.

Each week, winners will be drawn for prizes in the Holiday Star Light Star Bright Seek-N-Find. Children will meander through the zoo competing tasks to enter the contest.

In the Asia Quest area, a Pop Culture Christmas theme called Tinseltown will take visitors through displays and meet characters from memorable holiday movies and TV specials.

Kids can take camel rides, get aboard the Polar Bear Express, and stop by Santa’s Reindeer Corral to see live reindeer.

Rudolf, Bumble and Santa will be making appearances and will be available for pictures that can be used for this year’s holiday cards.

Wildlights will be from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm from November 17 until January 1st at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, 4850 West Powell Road, Powell.
