Fundraiser planned for homeless youth in Philadelphia

November 14, 2017 by

Each year, Covenant House helps kids who are homeless or who have run away, and it has put out a call to Philadelphia requesting the donation of gift cards to help it in its work.

To thank the public for its generosity of spirit, a special celebration has been planned at Tir na nOg Irish Bar and Grill. Those who make a donation will be treated to a drink and hors d’oeuvres while they socialize and network with other professionals. Anyone who is interested in participating is encouraged to bring along a friend or colleague to help maximize the impact of the fundraiser. Festive banners and other holiday-themed decorations for a function like this can be both designed and then produced by an area printer.

The organizers of the initiative noted that gift cards from department stores such as Walmart and Target, and also from supermarkets, are especially helpful. They went on to say that all will be appreciated, and anyone who would prefer to bring along a gift is welcome to do so. These will be collected and given to the kids who need them.

This event, which has been planned by Covenant House Pennsylvania Associate Board will be taking place on November 30. Anyone who is interested in helping local youth in need is invited to visit the fundraiser’s listing for additional details.
