Concord Arts Council hosts artistic activities

Several events are scheduled later this month in Concord, held by the Cabarrus Arts Council.

First, the Downtown Concord Art Walk is a free event with artist demonstrations, refreshments, live music, and many more activities throughout the downtown area. WastePro is the primary sponsor of the Art Walk.

As part of this event, which will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on November 17, there will be an opening reception for the newest exhibit at The Galleries of the Cabarrus Arts Council. This is the annual exhibition and sale of pottery. The work of 22 sculptors and potters from all parts of North Carolina will be on display and available for purchase. The exhibit will be open until January 26, 2018.

The Galleries will also be open all day on Thursday, November 30 for guests to enjoy hot cider during the daytime hours and wine during the evening while spending their time shopping for artwork. Also, on November 20, a talk about inspiration and techniques will be given by Jennifer Mecca and Amy Sanders, both potters, in The Galleries at 7:00 pm. Both events are free and open to the public.

Flyers are often used to attract people in the community to events like these, and to increase awareness of the artistic endeavors in the area and throughout the state.
