Coral Springs celebrates the holiday season

November 11, 2017 by

Coral Springs will be celebrating the holiday season this year with shopping, a parade, and an annual running event.

Downtown Coral Springs will kick off the season with a four-hour Downtown in December evening. There will be free parking, food trucks, free milk and cookies, and other holiday activities and treats. There may even be a little snow.

A couple of weeks later, the Holiday Parade will be marching down Sample Road. The parade will feature over 60 entries, including themed floats, high school bands, marching units, mascots, and of course Santa. This year’s theme will be ‘A Tropical Holiday’. Floats will be vying for the coveted Mayor’s Cup, Commissioner’s Cup and Vice Mayor’s Cup.

Before the parade, runners can get out and take part in the Coral Springs Holiday Mile. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in 20 age categories, the most members on a team, and team with the best time.

Photographers around town will be taking plenty of pictures for next year’s holiday poster printing.

Downtown in December will be December 2 at the ArtWalk from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. The Holiday Parade will step off December 13 at 7:00 pm on the corner of Coral Springs Drive and Sample Road. It will then proceed to City Hall. The rain date will be December 14.

The Holiday Mile will begin at the parade starting line on December 13 with a start time at 6:15 pm.
