Calling all Clovis moms-to-be

November 10, 2017 by

Expecting mothers in Clovis, along with their support people, are invited to come to an event that will help them to plan for the upcoming birth of their child.

During the Prepared Childbirth Weekend, participants will be able to gain the knowledge they would have by taking part in traditional pre-natal classes spread over four weeks. It includes a visit to the hospital to see its maternity facilities, and it will also cover a variety of topics that can help them to feel more informed and confident about the birth of their baby.

The women and supporters who participate will learn about the different stages of labor and delivery, as well as comfort measures they can utilize. There will be a discussion of how to effectively support a woman during childbirth, techniques that can aid in relaxation, and other methods that can make the process easier. The different medical options will be addressed, and there will be lots of time to ask questions.

The weekend of classes will be taking place in the Outpatient Care Conference Room of the Clovis Community Medical Center. Both the moms-to-be and their support people are asked to attend the entire weekend, and the materials for the course will be provided to them. They are also asked to bring along two pillows, and dress comfortably. A local printing services provider will be able to supply any handouts or other items needed for an educational event like this.

The weekend childbirth class will start on December 1. The ticket price has been set at $95 each, and anyone who would like to register or find out more can do so on the organizer’s website.
