Judas Priest on way to Youngstown

Judas Priest, the legendary heavy metal band from England, is on the way to Youngstown, where they’ll perform at the Covelli Centre.

Their upcoming tour supports their latest album, “Firepower.” Among the supergroup’s hits are “Breaking the Law,” “Living after Midnight,” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming.”

Birmingham, England, is home to the band, which first got together there in 1969. To date, the group has sold approximately 50 million albums worldwide. They are solidly grounded in the heavy metal sound, but over the years, have modified their style somewhat within that genre. In the late 1970s, they began bringing a more “radio-friendly” style to their music.

They also are pioneers in rock fashion; Rob Halford in particular incorporated the biker/metal clothing, featuring a lot of leather and chains, into his look, a technique that many other bands adopted.

Judas Priest will be in town on March 15, 2018, for a 7 pm show at the Covelli Centre. The doors will open at 5.30 pm. Tickets are going to sell quickly; they go on sale today, October 28, 2017, at 10 am. Fans can get tickets by phone at 800-745-3000; going to Ticketmaster.com; or going to the box office at Southwoods Health, inside the centre.

Events like this are dynamic and exciting, and can be even more fun if organizers work with a poster printing company, which can create colorful posters, suitable for sale, to advertise the show.
