An Afternoon of Music, Art and Stories is taking place next month in Morrisville, presented by the Bucks County Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement

The event is a celebration of Syrian refugees and especially two local families from the region. Proceeds will be donated to the families to help with childcare, car insurance, and rent until they are both self-sufficient and the parents are employed full-time.

Musical entertainment will be provided during the evening by artists such as Jeff Dershin, Jack Kessler, Stan Slotter, and Joe Tayoun. There will also be a silent auction of donated art which will include stained glass items, handmade quilts, paintings, unique woodwork, and ceramics. In addition, the families themselves will tell their stories of how they ended up arriving in the United States.

This event will likely be advertised in the community through flyers that may be sent out to Morrisville families. Items such as these are often donated by local printing companies for charity events such as this.

An Afternoon of Music, Art and Stories will be held at Congregation Kol Emet on November 12 from 2:45 to 5:30 PM. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children; guests can also pay what they can. To learn more about this event, contact the Congregation at 215-493-8522.
