San Clemente gets spooked and likes it

The CASA Creepy Haunted House will be back this year for three evenings. The event organizers tout it as the largest family-friendly Halloween attraction in south Orange County.

The house and 2.5 acre gardens have a 1920s theme. The house is packed with vampires, werewolves and ghosts that greet guests at every turn, while the gardens have scads of creepy-crawlies. The haunted walk through the gardens will have sudden sounds and movement and will take guests over uneven historic grounds, low steps, and unpaved trails.

Some sections will have eerie lighting effects and fog. The walk will require all participants to sign waivers before starting the adventure, and nobody will be allowed to wander off the path.

Some guests may get lucky enough to get one or more of the ghosts, zombies, or ghouls to pose with them for pictures that the can take to local printers for poster printing.

The CASA Haunted House and Gardens will be take place from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at the CASA Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, 415 Avenida Granada, San Clemente on October 27, 28, and on 31. The event will be open from 7:00 pm and go until 9:00 pm each night. General admission tickets will be $12, and kids 12 or younger will get in for $7. The target audience for this event will be children and adults ages eight and up.
