Sacramento rocks the month

The Fall Out Kings, Ghost Color, Nova Sutro, And Criminal Rock will soon be hosting Sac Rocktoberfest 2017 – a concert to fund the upcoming Screaming Orange benefit concert.

The large concert will be held at a later date to benefit the teen center, The Silver Orange. The hosting bands and three other bands, along with five acoustic guitar acts, are slated to perform. The event is for all ages.

The main stage will feature the host bands and Fabis Gault, Kyle Tuttle and the Beginners, and The Stoneberries. The outdoor acoustic stage will have Rocky Kajimuras, Mason Williams, Hannah and Justin, Steve and Connor Chavez and Friends.

The lineup of activities will include costume contests, an artist showcase, safe trick-or-treating, and food from Purple Pig Eats.

Silver Orange is a relatively new hangout for teens from the ages of 12 to 17. The center has the usual teen entertainment – foosball, board games, and video games – but has also added musical instruments, an art center, digital creation technologies area and a snack bar. The center is open from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm Mondays through Thursday and from 2:00 pm until 11:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Teen organizations and involved parents will no doubt be passing out flyers in their neighborhoods and getting this information to their organizations before their next newsletter printing.

The Sac Rocktoberfest is slated for October 28 at the Silver Orange, 922 57th Street, Sacramento.
