Edison eats for a good cause

Edison mayor Tom Lankey has asked residents to help recovery efforts by eating out, or ordering take out, from participating restaurants during a specific period of time.

The restaurants that have agreed to take part in the effort will be donating some of their earnings for the period to the One America Appeal Fund. The five former living Presidents of the United States set up the fund to help victims recover from natural disasters. In this case, the money will go to those who have been devastated by the recent hurricanes in Florida and Texas.

Mayor Lankey notes that Edison has a long history of volunteerism and service, and hopes residents will continue to maintain that tradition by patronizing the participating restaurants during the ‘Eating for Relief’ week. Not only will this help areas shattered by disasters, but participants will also enjoy some fine meals.

Not all participating restaurants are taking part throughout the whole period, so people should check the city website for the schedule. Participants are Benihana, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, Outback Steakhouse, Villa Gennaros, Skylark, Lou Cas, Bombay Spice, La Bonbonaire, Zinberger, Mogul, and Ming.
