Georgetown fundraiser held in late September

The Caring Place held its annual fundraiser, Deep in The Heart of Caring, in late September.

Like previous events, the evening featured dinner and dancing, a cattle round up, and both live and silent auctions, all held at the Schwertner Ranch Event Center.

Johnny Lee and the Urban Cowboy Band were featured at the event, which was sponsored by several local businesses. The yearly event helps to fund The Caring Place, an organization that helps Georgetown and Northern Williams County residents in times of crisis.

Some of the seasonal programs run by the organization include holiday assistance, coats for kids, and an eldercare fan drive to help seniors get air conditioners.

Along with Deep in The Heart of Caring, the organization also supports bimonthly Lunch & Learn events, where community members can learn more about the work the organization does and how they can help. Christmas tree decorations are also sold in November, with profits going to support the organization’s work. At the November event, visitors are also treated to dessert.

Businesses that sponsor events like Deep in The Heart of Caring often use items like custom business cards or flyers to offer information about their own businesses at events. This is especially true if the business are to have a booth or other dedicated station at the event.
