New play coming to River Street Playhouse

October 2, 2017 by

The River Street Playhouse in Chagrin Falls will be the first theater to mount a new comedy by Ed Walsh and Bob Noll, who are both local playwrights.

“Love, Honor and Other Complications” sees a middle-aged man about to wed a far younger woman, but the situation is complicated when he realizes the bride’s mother was his date for the high school prom. Since he is the only one who realizes this, he has to decide whether or not to say anything.

Walsh and Noll have had their plays produced locally, in Kansas City, Virginia, and Off-Off Broadway. ‘One-On-One’ and ‘Frankenstein’s Nightmare’ have both been published, with the artists say is their goal. However, they also enjoy working with the cast and directors during the rehearsal process.

To that end, both playwrights have been attending rehearsals and making some slight script changes as the play takes shape, in collaboration with Cindee Catalano-Edelman and Don, her husband, who are directing.

The show will be performed at 8:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays from October 13 to October 28, 2017, with a matinee on October 22 at 2:00 pm. River Street Playhouse is on River Street in Chagrin Falls.

Playgoers often like to keep souvenirs, so theater management groups sometimes work with a poster printing company to create a poster for their shows – not just for advertising, but also to offer for sale.
