Fuquay-Varina Haunted Trail offers varying degrees of fright

October 2, 2017 by

Volunteers are going through orientation, getting their trail assignments, readying their costumes, and practicing their moans, groans, and screams for the upcoming Fuquay-Varina’s Haunted Trail. The event is for one night only so all local ghosts and goblins will want to mark their calendars now.

This free event will be divided into two attractions. The Family Trail, which will take place in early evening, will be more for the little ones with a fun walk through a sun-lit trail with light-hearted characters meeting the guests. Everyone is invited to wear their Halloween costumes.

The Full Fright comes later in the evening and organizers promise it will be a terrifying walk through dark woods. There will be unexpected and frightening experiences, and spooky characters along the way. Children under the age of 10 are not encouraged to attend, and those 10 to 12 years old will need to bring an adult.

There will be a free shuttle bus service from the Fuquay-Varina Community Center that will run from 4:30 until 9:30 pm. Those who opt to walk the Jeff Wells Trail to the park are cautioned to bring flashlights.

The Haunted Trail will be October 21 in Carroll Howard Johnson Park, at 820 S. Main Street Fuquay-Varina. The Family Trail will begin at 5:00 pm and go until 6:00 pm; Full Fright will run from 7:00 until 9:00 pm with the line forming at 6:00 pm.
