The annual Celebrate Fuquay-Varina Festival will be coming in early October.

The famous chili cook-off will feature 20 teams that will be vying for prize money and bragging rights. A panel of judges will decide the winners, and the public will vote for the People’s Choice award.

A kids’ zone will have free carnival rides and a climbing. Fuquay Cruisers’ Antique Car Show and food vendors will also be part of the festivities.

The Fuquay-Varina Arts Council will be sponsoring the Artists Village on Main Street, where over 27 artists will be displaying and selling original work. Also on Main Street will be a Sponsor’s Row. Representatives will be passing out flyers, promotional products, coupons, and free samples of their products and services.

Land Sharks will be performing Jimmy buffet style music in a free outdoor concert a couple of evenings prior to the festival. Entertainment at the festival itself will be musical acts in the beer garden, a BMX Bike Show, and local talent in the community showcase area. The Main Street Stage will have a magician, a singer and storyteller, a country music artist, and a saxophonist.

The festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 7 in Downtown Fuquay between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. The Chili Cook Off will be on Depot Street, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. The free concert will be from 6:30 to 9:30 pm on Thursday, October 5 in FV’s business district.
