Greenfield gets in Oktoberfest spirit

September 13, 2017 by

This year, Oktoberfest in Greenfield, Wisconsin, will have a bonus event of the Trick or Trot Run/Walk, which will be held on the Konkel Park trails.

Attendees will be able to choose from three courses: the one-mile Monster Mile, the two-mile Tombstone Two, and the Frankenstein Five 5k.

The Halloween-themed event is presented in partnership with Oktoberfest, and participants are invited to walk or run in their Halloween costumes. Those who do wear costumes will be eligible to enter a costume contest with a range of prizes.

All walk/run participants will receive a free beverage ticket, and proceeds from the event will benefit the Greenfield Parks and Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund. The Fund offers families in need financial assistance for programs within the Parks and Rec department. The group believes that offered recreational activities can change people’s lives, and that everyone should be able to access them.

Participants in the Trick or Trot event will receive a finisher’s medal, and awards will be given for first, second, and third place winners for each event in different age categories. Participants will also receive a goodie bag. For many similar events, companies donate promotional products such as custom pens or drinkware to boost their brand recognition.

For more information, or to register for the run, go to the parks and rec website.
