Theater near Forest Hills announces new season

September 13, 2017 by

For its upcoming season, the Queens Theatre, near Forest Hills, has announced a diverse roster of plays.

The theater will produce both classics and new plays during the 2017-2018 season. While some of the plays are produced by the theater, others come from theater companies across the US and are part of tours.

Theaters can use newsletter printing to let patrons know about their upcoming seasons and to encourage people to subscribe.

As Taryn Sacramone, Queens Theatre’s executive director, told the Forest Hills Times,

“Our wonderful new season contains both classic and premiere productions sure to delight our loyal patrons and new audiences – including a full array of drama, comedy, music, dance and children’s theater. As always at Queens Theatre, the upcoming season promises to be distinct, compelling and utterly memorable, with something for all audiences.”

Up first is ‘Jimmy and Carolyn’ by James Walsh, which is scheduled to run from the middle of September until October 1. The production will be a world premiere.

Next up will be ‘Sense and Sensibility’, an adaptation of the Jane Austen novel. It will run from October 20 to 22 and is produced by Aquila Theatre.

In November, Flora Martinez, a Canadian-Colombian actor, will take the stage with her one-woman show ‘Frida Libre’, about the life of the artist Frida Kahlo. Martinez will perform the show in English and in Spanish. She will also be available for talkbacks with audience members after the performance.
